I was born in Taiwan and came to the US when I was in 10 years old. I grew up in Austin, Texas and attended McCallum High School. I have known Texas to be my home for the past 17 years and consider myself "Texanese" at this point.
As someone that emigrated to the United States from Taiwan, I grew up between two cultures and I saw firsthand the need for better mental health practices and the damage caused by unrealistic familial and cultural expectations both in Western and Eastern Cultures.
I graduated from the University of Texas in 2015 with a degree in English and a minor in Educational Psychology. I obtained my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023. As an LPC-Associate, I am currently obtaining the 3000 hours required for full-licensure as an LPC-Associate.
When I was 21 years old, I came out as a gay man and have since identified as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I am part of an LGBTQ+ climbing community and
I want to help people live life as best as they can. I believe we can do that by helping others recognize the negative beliefs and emotions can cause unhealthy patterns of living and reliance on coping mechanisms. I believe in healing the mind-body connection through awareness of our feelings.
In my free-time, I can be found at rock climbing gyms bouldering or playing video games with friends. My favorite games include: Helldivers 2, Halo, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Dark Souls.
