About Me

I was born in Taiwan and came to the US when I was in 10 years old.  I grew up in Austin, Texas and attended McCallum High School. I have known Texas to be my home for the past 17 years and consider myself "Texanese" at this point.

As someone that emigrated to the United States from Taiwan, I grew up between two cultures and I saw firsthand the need for better mental health practices and the damage caused by unrealistic familial and cultural expectations both in Western and Eastern Cultures.

I graduated from the University of Texas in 2015 with a degree in English and a minor in Educational Psychology. I obtained my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023. As an LPC-Associate, I am currently obtaining the 3000 hours required for full-licensure to an LPC. 

When I was 21 years old, I came out as a gay man and have since identified as a member of the LGBTQ+ community ever since.  I started my company Underdog Counseling in 2024 as a means to provide counseling for underserved populations. 

In my free-time, I can be found bouldering at rock climbing gyms, playing video games with friends or spending time with partner and our two dogs. My favorite games include: Helldivers 2,  Marvel Rivals, Rainbow Six Siege, Halo, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Dark Souls.
